The MOTOTRBO R7 Series represents a step-change in professional radio technology. Where previous generations balanced audio quality against durability against connectivity, the R7 refuses to compromise on any dimension. It is simultaneously the loudest, most intelligent, most ruggedized, and most connected digital portable radio Motorola Solutions has ever produced.
Available in full-keypad and no-keypad variants (R7), plus the no-keypad R7a, the series caters to a wide range of operational needs — from field supervisors who need text messaging to frontline workers who need the fastest, simplest PTT possible.

The headline number is 102 phons — the output of the R7's standard speaker profile. That's over ten times louder than a shouting conversation in an open space. Activate the programmable extra loud profile and it climbs to 107 phons on the radio and with the remote speaker microphone — roughly equivalent to standing near a motorcycle at close range.
Adaptive Dual Microphone Noise Suppression means the person on the other end hears you — not your surroundings. Front and back microphones build an acoustic profile of the environment and subtract it from your voice before transmission. In a roaring stadium, beside heavy machinery, or at a noisy distribution centre, your team will hear their radio.
Automatic Acoustic Feedback Suppression handles the last common failure mode: the feedback squeal when multiple radios are in proximity. In crowded dispatch areas, briefing rooms, or public events, the R7 eliminates it entirely.
The R7 carries IP68 and IP66 ratings simultaneously — completely sealed against dust, survives submersion in two metres of water for two hours, and shrugs off direct hits from high-pressure water jets. The screen is ruggedized to handle multiple drops onto concrete.
R7 is also intrinsically safe, certified for use in hazardous locations where the risk of ignition or fire demands devices of the highest electrical safety standard. And its housing material was designed for the medical industry to resist disinfectants and decontamination substances.
102–107 phon output, adaptive dual-mic noise suppression, feedback cancellation, and intelligent auto-volume.
IP68/IP66 rated, MIL-spec tested, ruggedized display, intrinsically safe for hazardous environments.
2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, over-the-air updates, video security system integration.
NIST framework software, factory device certificates, secure on-board processor, highest Wi-Fi/BT encryption.
The R7 supports Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi, enabling over-the-air firmware updates so your radios stay current without ever leaving the field. It integrates into the Motorola Solutions Safety Reimagined ecosystem — receiving automatic alerts from video security systems and sensors directly on-device.
Security is built in at every level: NIST Cybersecurity framework software, factory-installed certificates, a secure processor that rejects unauthorised firmware, and the highest available standards for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth encryption.
